ABOUT

Nomad Souls Films is a film production and production services company created by producer Mai Takachiyo, producer Hisanori Tamura and director Tomohito Goshozono on 2018.

We mainly focus our production on feature and short documentary films, as well as feature and short arthouse narrative films.

Nomad Souls Films branch offices are scheduled to open in Paris (European bureau), Los Angeles (North American bureau) and Mexico City (Latin American bureau) in the future.

Producer, Mai Takachiyo is Japanese born and raised in Japan. At the age of 15, she left Japan to study in the US alone, and went to a local highschool and graduated a local university. She obtained permanent residency since then, and as she lived in the US for 16 years, she speaks fluent Japanese and English. As she lived in the US for a long time, she has not only Japanese point of view and mentality, but she shares American ones as well. After graduating university, she works in a production company in the US, and later worked for Japanese TV stations and advertisement agencies. Therefore, she has strong ties with both American and Japanese media, and is able to understand the Japanese and Western viewers’ point of views.

日本生まれの日本人。15歳で留学の為単身で渡米し、現地で高校、大学を卒業。以降永住権を取得し、16年間アメリカで生活していた為英語と日本語が流暢であり、通常の会話及び取材も通訳無しで行う事ができる。尚、米国での生活が長かったため、日本の視点、精神性に加え、米国の視点、精神性、意見などを理解している。米国では大学卒業後に映像制作プロダクションに勤務し、帰国後は日本のテレビ局、CM会社で勤務。その為、日米両方のメディアとの関係が深い。又、日本人・欧米人視聴者の視点を理解することができる。

Hisanori’s father is Japanese and his mother is Thai with Vietnamese and French backgrounds. He is fluent in English, Japanese and French and can also have conversation in Spanish and Portuguese. As his father was a diplomat, he lived not only in Japan, but also in Thailand, Canada, Kenya, Luxembourg, Libya and Australia, and he spent 15 years in France. After graduating and obtaining the Master’s degree at INALCO, Paris 8 University and EHESS, he starts working as a consultant in partnership with French multinational companies. In 2015, he moves back to Japan and works mainly for major French media as a fixer and local coordinator. Today he works from news to documentaries, advertisement and films.

父が日本人で母がベトナム/フランス系タイ人。英語・日本語・フランス語が流暢であり、その他にスペイン語、ポルトガル語はビジネスレベル。父親が外交官のため、日本はもちろん、過去にタイ、カナダ、ケニヤ、ルクセンブルグ、リビア、オーストラリアに在住した事があり、中でもフランスで計15年過ごした。国立東洋言語文化大学、パリ第8大学及び社会科学高等研究院で修士号を得てから、大手会社を扱うコンサルタントとして働く。2015年に、ベースを本格的に日本に移し、フランスの大手メディア会社のフィクサー及びコーディネーターの一員となる。現在は幅広くニュース、ドキュメンタリー、CM、映画などにフリーランスとして携わっている。

Director, Tomohito Goshozono is a Mexican born Japanese. He lived in Mexico until 20 years old, and after graduating bilingual school, he studied in Nihon University for 4 years, then later returned to Mexico as a Japanese/English/Spanish translator and interpreter. After 6 months, he transferred his home base to Japan, and starts working in a company treating news and corporate media. Today, he works not only in technical fields such as DIT or AC, but also works as a freelancer for documentaries, advertisements and films as a direction advisor or story composer. Most of the projects that he participates in is with foreign production companies, so he coordinates and works for production as well.

メキシコ生まれの日本人。二十歳まで在住し、現地のバイリンガルスクールを卒業後、日本大学で四年間学び、日・英・西語の通訳・翻訳者として再びメキシコに帰国。半年後、ベースを本格的に日本に移し、ニュースやコーポレートメディア中心の映像会社に就職。現在は幅広くDITやACと言った技術的な業務、及びストーリー構成やダイレクション・アドバイスなどの演出面でドキュメンタリー、CM、映画などにフリーランスとして携わっている。大半のプロジェクトか海外クルーと合同で行われるため、技術面だけではなく、制作面でのコーディネーションを同時に行うことが多い。

A reclusive adult withdrew from social life and narrates how the Japanese society made him become a hikikomori.
